In Aalborg there are two programs within Electronic Music and Music Production: Bachelor in Electronic Sound and Music - and: Master in Electronic Music Production
Electronic Sound and Music (Bachelor, 3 years)
Electronic Sound and Music is a 3-year Bachelor (BMus) program at the Academy’s Aalborg campus where you will be working with the production and performance of electronic music and sound. The program gives you the professional qualifications necessary for contemporary professional electronic musicians, composers and producers.

During the program, you will focus on compositional methods and take an analytical approach to investigating contemporary and older electronic music, art, and culture.
You will be working with e.g. music production, studio technology, hardware, programming, electronics, live performance, installations, synthesis, and sound design. You will also be working with electronic sound, contributing to productions that span several art forms.
In addition, you will be doing practical work with teaching training.
It is the objective of the Academy that all students gain a relevant understanding of music history and culture which enables them to break new ground and be innovative on the contemporary art scene.
As an electronic music student in Aalborg, you can also look forward to collaborations with the jazz/pop music students.

Electronic Music Production (Master, 2 years)
The Master (MMus) in Electronic Music Production at the Academy’s Aalborg campus is a 2-year program whose primary focus is music production within contemporary popular musical forms of expression.
At the end of the program, you must be able to solve varied tasks in the professional commercial music labor market and at the same time have an individual artistic profile.
In the major Electronic Music Production, you work individually and in small groups on your production skills and artistic expression.
The major is supplemented by electives aimed at specific business skills, such as music for gaming or film, sync and live sound.
As a student, you can expect to participate in internships and collaborate with external professionals during the program. The teaching in Artistic Entrepreneurship gives you tools for career management and experience as an entrepreneur.
The education ends with the master’s project, where you specialize in a subject of your choice within Electronic Music Production.
NB: The education is new and the first class starts in August 2025. The Master program meets the need for a higher education, that is aimed at commercial music production and thus also embraces the genres that, despite a large market and great audience interest, are only catered for to a very limited extent by other Danish music academy programs.

Facilities
Tuition takes place in large, elegant rooms with professional-grade studio monitors, monitor controls, sound cards, and sound-absorbing materials. The rooms also contain drum pads, drum machines, synthesizers, MIDI controllers, and MIDI keyboards.
One of the rooms has 4 studio monitors, allowing a 4-channel set-up.
You also have access to two e-music rehearsal rooms with a monitor set-up, mixer, sound card, and piano. The rehearsal rooms give you great opportunities for working with production and composition around the clock.
