NOMAZZ

Nordic Master in Jazz

The Nordic Master in Jazz (NOMAZZ) is a joint initiative between the Royal Academy of Music in Aarhus, the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki and the Royal College of Music in Stockholm.

The programme leads to the Master of Music degree (MMus), according to each institution’s specific regulations. When you are accepted to the programme, you will become a student of one of these three institutions, which will be your “home institution”, and where you will also graduate from eventually.

The basic structure of the studies will, however, be the same for all the students in the programme and is designed and managed in co-operation with all institutions involved.

You will receive tuition from some of the best known musicians of the Nordic jazz scene. However, the course has no pre-conceived stylistic conventions, and the students on the course have wide-ranging tastes in music, meaning you can focus on your own personal expression. Most importantly, NOMAZZ is intended for musicians who have reached a high level of performance ability. The applicants should have obtained at least a Bachelor degree in Music.

The programme’s common language is English.
