Classical
The classical programmes at the Royal Academy of Music Aarhus/Aalborg share a tradition for premium quality tuition, and we expect a lot from you as a student.
At the Academy, you will get the opportunity to hone your skills in an exciting, varied, and inspiring environment with strong professional networks; internally on individual subjects as well as across all classical disciplines.
In addition, there are great opportunities for collaborating with students from our two other main areas: jazz/pop music and electronic music.
Our programmes span many different genres, ages, methods, and tuition formats, and they provide opportunities for specialisation as well as more generalised education. The Master’s programmes (MMus) in particular give you the opportunity to choose from different directions.

If you want a very general music degree, consider the AM programme (General Music Teacher) which includes several main subjects and where tuition encompasses both classical and jazz/pop disciplines. Read more about the AM programme here.
During your studies, you will get many opportunities for playing concerts and chamber music, attending a master class, participating in internal competitions, or participating in various projects such as orchestra training courses or opera productions.
Our classical programmes are offered at the Aarhus campus only.
