Employed as ass. professor at The Royal Academy of Music, Aarhus since 1996. Søren Kinch Hansen has conducted Den Jyske Opera (The Opera of Jutland) and Radiokoret (the Danish National Radio Choir) a.o., and he has been Artistic Director of Pro Coro, Canada (1992-94). He has conducted several operas composed by Per Nørgård, Niels Rosing-Schou and Niels Marthinsen plus Erik Norby”s ballet “Legs of Fire” at the Royal Danish Theatre in Copenhagen (1997/98).
The last 12 years he has been regular conductor for the vocal ensemble GAIA and Aarhus Sinfonietta. Both ensembles accentuates the seldom heard or new and contemporary music. He has recorded a cd with Aarhus Sinfonietta feat. music by Per Nørgård and Poul Ruders.
