Symbolic Peaks for AI systems and DAW
The project explores the use of generative AI in composition, focusing on creating music that retains a recognizable musical identity. It examines language-based AI models as tools for contemporary composition.
The final product will be a 10-minute sound piece that investigates AI-based tools while raising questions about authenticity and artistic intent.
This project addresses some of the questions arising from the popularization of music-generating AI tools, such as whether AI will dominate the creative process in the future. Central to the project are the following questions:
- How does the compositional process of original contemporary music function when AI-generated sound is part of the sonic material?
- Which software tools are best suited for this purpose?
- Can AI-generated sound be considered an independent timbre with a recognizable identity, capable of integration into instrumentation with semantic significance?
These questions are open-ended, and any answers will likely be subjective. However, this project represents an attempt to use AI tools in a way that allows new sounds and atmospheres to emerge.
