New Music for Strings 2022

Minor festival for new Danish music

This year’s New Music for Strings Festival is organized as a minor festival for new Danish music with  three concerts in Aarhus and Mols on 25-26 June.

The first concert, “Crossing”, will be held on Saturday 25 June at 12:00 in the Chamber Music Hall at the academy in Music Hall Aarhus.

“Crossing” traces a lineage of music for strings and percussion by composers of multiple generations, with a connection to the Danish New-Music scene. Audiences can expect re-imaginings of historical chamber music forms, solo performances and intersections of music, video, electronics and performativity.

This concert offers a unique selection of works by RAMA faculty, graduate students and alumni, performed by recent graduates, faculty, and international soloists.

Works by Juliana Hodkinson, Niklas Brandenhoff, Monika Szpyrka, Tobias Krebs, Sofie Meyer, and Matthew Grouse. Free admission.

The other two concerts will take place on June 25 at 19:00 in Vrinners Church at Mols and 26 June at 15:00 in Frederikskirken in Højbjerg.
