New Music for Strings 2023

New Music for Strings Festival 2023:
Sound as Image

24.-31. August – Aarhus & Rønde

Theme: Sound as Image – What happens when artists interpret sound as image? Can music even be “translated” into visual art, or the other way around? How does the unique sonic world of string instruments translate into image?

These questions are at the center of the 2023 festival. The festival presents audiences to a concert series, which prominently features premieres of new works exploring these questions and more – as well as a lecture series with in-depth perspectives on our perception and sensory faculties.
