Professor Mo-Yi von Bülow’s artistic training began at the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing and continued at Musikhochschule Lübeck, Hochschule für Musik Würzburg, Hochschule für Musik und Theater Munich, and the Conservatoire Supérieur in Paris.

Mo-Yi’s repertoire ranges from the Baroque era to contemporary music. Baroque music, in particular, occupies an important place in Mo-Yi’s artistic and pedagogical awareness and practice; she is fascinated by its diversity and expressive musical power.

As a soloist, chamber musician, and concertmaster, Mo-Yi has performed on numerous international stages. For many years, she was principal player with The Danish Sinfonietta and remains closely associated with the orchestra as a guest concertmaster.

Teaching

Mo yi regularly gives masterclasses in a number of countries.

Mo-Yi’s career as an educator began at the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing and led her, via the Musikhochschule Lübeck, to professorships at the Berlin University of the Arts (UdK) and the Royal Academy of Music, Aarhus/Aalborg, where she continues to teach as a professor.

Among her many distinctions in violin, Baroque violin, and chamber music are the Possehl Music Prize Lübeck, the Förderpreis der Münchner Konzertgesellschaft, Treffen Alte Musik at the Musikinstrumenten-Museum Berlin, the International Telemann Competition Magdeburg, the Maria Canals International Music Competition Barcelona, the International Joseph Haydn Chamber Music Competition Vienna, and the Julie Friisholm Memorial Grant.
