Flavia Couri Thorsen
Timelærer, sammenspil, sangskrivning og entreprenørskabFlavia Couri is a Brazilian born bass player, guitar player, singer and songwriter. After a successful career in Brazil playing bass with some of the country’s most iconic rock, blues and MPB artists, Flavia moved to Denmark in 2015 because of love.
Together with her husband, Danish drummer Martin Couri, she has created the internationally acclaimed garage rock duo The Courettes, one of the most active in the European scene, constantly touring throughout Europe, UK, USA, Japan and South America. The Courettes has released 4 studio albums, numerous singles and have been praised by the biggest music magazines of the world, like Mojo (UK), Rolling Stone (USA), Classic Rock (UK), Shindig!(UK) and Gaffa (DK), and has performed in major festivals like Smuk Fest (DK), Azkena Rock Festival (Spain), Eurosonic (Netherlands), Reeperbahn (Germany), Roots & Roses (Belgium), SPOT (Denmark), and Bukta Festival (Norway).
Flavia has a master degree in electric bass and a solist degree in songwriting and teaches Ensemble, Entrepreneurial Studies and Songwriting at the Royal Academy of Music since 2019.
