Composition

The Composition major subject is designed for students who wish to qualify for a professional career as a composer.

The subject focuses on the development of compositional, artistic, and technical skills, as well as reflection on one’s own artistic practice in relation to contemporary culture and society. Students work on the development, realisation, and presentation of their own works in collaboration with relevant musical partners and ensembles.

Teaching is organised as a combination of project-based work, individual supervision, and group instruction.

Please note: students choose between Classical Composition, Electronic Composition, or Jazz/Pop Composition.
