Reinhold Friedrich
Reinhold Friedrich was Honorary Professor in 2010 - 2015
The German trumpeter Reinhold Friedrich was nominated as a Honorary Professor at the Royal Music Academy, Aarhus/Aalborg in connection with a concert that took place on January 21, 2011.
Mr. Friedrich is one of the world’s leading trumpeters. He plays everything from Bach to Berio and is an excellent soloist and orchestral player and masters both the modern trumpet and the old natural trumpet (also used in Baroque music). He is a soloist trumpeter in the elite orchestra Lucerne Festivalorkester and he also performed with BBC’s Symphony Orchestra in London and Concertgebouw Orchestra in Amsterdam.
Furthermore, Reinhold Friedrich is a much respected instructor and head of one of Europe’s best trumpet classes at the music academy in Karlsruhe. He has been a visiting lecturer at the Royal Academy of Music, Aarhus/Aalborg several times. It is expected that Mr. Friedrich as an honorary professor will pay annual visits at the Academy. It is a great benefit for the classical trumpeter students to be able to establish even closer ties with this international capacity.
The agreement with Reinhold Friedrich regarding the honorary professorship has been made through the Academy’s trumpet lecturer Kristian Steenstrup. Since 2008, Mr. Friedrich and Mr. Steenstrup hold joint summer courses in Toscana.
