Søren Møller

Lecturer, Piano, Ensemble Teaching

Currently Soren is teaching piano and composition at the Royal Academy of Music in Aalborg and composing new works for the Aarhus Jazz Orchestra as well as the SORA Choir.

Hailed by American magazine All About Jazz as “as close to perfect as it gets” Danish pianist and composer Soren Moller continues to explore the boundaries between jazz, classical minimalism and indie rock in a variety of ensembles from small group Jazz to the Danish Radio Big Band, Metropole Orchestra and the Copenhagen Phil.

Since arriving in New York in 2002 to study with the great Kenny Barron towards his Masters Degree at Manhattan School of Music, Soren Moller has received rave reviews leading ensembles including acclaimed musicians such as Dick Oatts, Jason Marsalis, Antonio Sanchez, Ambrose Akinmusire, Joel Frahm and Ari Hoenig a.o. Soren has performed at established venues all around the world including the Carnegie Hall.

After relocating to Copenhagen in 2013, Soren Moller was selected best release of the year in national daily newspaper Politiken for his album Resume. Lately he has been conducting the Danish Radio Big Band in a re-write of Miles Davis Bitches Brew featuring Palle Mikkelborg, Arve Henriksen and Marilyn Mazur and collaborated with Singer-Songwriter Teitur and the Aarhus Jazz Orchestra on the album Songs From A Social Distance.
