60-ECTS Part-time Studies

The Diploma Course in Jazz/Pop Drum and Dance (D-RMB) is a 2-year part-time programme equivalent to one year of full-time studies (60 ECTS).

The programme is aimed at educators, teachers, and others with 3-4 year long university education, higher education degree or corresponding qualifications, supplemented with at least 2 years of relevant professional experience.

With a creative, playful, and improvisational approach, the programme focuses on both your musical skills and your ability to participate in musical communities, as well as on developing your pedagogical skills, through an integration of theory and practice.

We place great emphasis on an inclusive study environment that makes room for diverse musical and pedagogical experiences and approaches.

About the Education

The programme consists of four modules:

  1. Personal Skills in Interplay with Others
  2. Musical Leadership
  3. Musical Leadership with a focus on Creativity, Composition, and Improvisation
  4. Personal Skills and Individual Project

The programme is structured so that you initially focus primarily on developing your own skills.

As the programme progresses, there is an increasing focus on pedagogical skills and their connection to your own teaching practice, with a creative and innovative approach to teaching as a central theme.

Throughout the programme, emphasis is also placed on the relationship between theory and practice – both in your own musical practice and in your pedagogical practice, possibly in a workplace setting. The subjects within the programme are closely interconnected, and exams and assessments are therefore viewed as a whole, where elements from subjects may be included.
