Music and Co-creation (Holstebro)(new)

Music and Co-creation is a 3-year bachelor's program where you develop your musical and creative skills and strengthen your ability to engage in collaborative projects with other artists.

The programme

The programme is offered at RAMA’s new campus in Holstebro since the fall of 2023.

As a student, you will gain knowledge, skills, and competencies to work as a creative musician, performer, teacher, or collaborator. Whether you see yourself primarily as a songwriter/composer/arranger, a producer, or a performer, inclusive and creative collaboration is at the heart of the program.

You will receive individual tuition in your main instrument and group tuition in a number of supporting subjects.

Throughout the program, you will participate in a variety of projects with fellow musicians, other artists, and partners from different sectors, fostering a wide range of supportive subjects.

Co-creation and creative projects include

  • Creating musical, artistic, or cross-disciplinary projects involving groups of people who are not typically artistic, such as mothers of young children, residents in nursing homes, employees in companies, etc.
  • Participating as a creating and performing artist in projects and activities already happening in the local area in collaboration with other cultural actors and institutions.
  • Participating as a creating and performing musician in interdisciplinary projects such as film or theater productions.
  • Creating projects together with dancers from the BA program at the Danish School of Performing Arts in Holstebro.

You can see examples of specific co-creation projects here.

Article about the programme

Former Head of studies and one of the lecturers talk about the programme in an article in the professional magazine Musikskolen from February 2024. Here you can read more (in Danish) about the programme’s very special profile, about co-creation, about the creative element in the programme, and about future career opportunities.

Campus

In its first years, the programme was based in the music campus environment centred around Holstebro Music School and the MGK at Bisgårdmark. From the start of the 2026 academic year, the programme has been relocated to temporary facilities in Building 8 on the former hospital site, while a brand-new campus for the Academy is being constructed in Building 26. The new facilities are expected to be ready for occupation in the summer of 2027.
