Workshop for young composers
5 and 6 October there is a project weekend for Aarhus Music School’s Young Composers initiative. The weekend is realized in collaboration with the Academy and AUT (Aarhus Young Tone Artists). The Academy provides rooms, and some of the Academy´s composer students participate as assistants at the workshop.
Over the weekend, the young composer aspirants will meet talks with composers Lasse D. Hansen and Line Tjørnhøj, solo concerts with two young musicians specializing in contemporary music, Anna Jalving and Anja Nedremo, as well as a series of workshop sessions on the theme “Framed improvisation”. The weekend ends with a free workshop concert in which the works from the weekend by the composer aspirants’ are performed by three young musicians, Sunday at 7.30 pm in the Little Hall, Aarhus Music Hall.
Since 2017, the Young Composers initiative at Aarhus Music School has collaborated with The Academy to meet the need for a music school-level offer to potential young composer and songwriting talents. The students are either songwriters, electronic composers or classical composers. They receive five lessons each with a professional composer as well as a number of joint projects.
