Music Pedagogy
Music Pedagogy
The Music Pedagogy major subject is designed for students who wish to qualify for a professional career within teaching, learning, and music educational development.
The subject focuses on the relationship between musical and artistic practice and pedagogical reflection and action. Students work with the planning, delivery, and evaluation of teaching for different target groups and learning contexts through their own teaching practice and by observing the teaching of others. Relevant research, theory, and methodology are incorporated as a foundation for analysis, reflection, and professional development.
Teaching is organised as a combination of placements, group instruction, and collaborative project work.
