RAMA festival in Aalborg – despite the corona!

RAMA Festival Aalborg 2021 – covid edition – takes place on Saturday 24 April, with a partial continuation on Sunday 25 April. One event starts already on Thursday 22 April.

Despite the pandemic, music students from RAMA’s department in Aalborg carry out the annual festival in a special corona-secured version, where the festival moves from Musikkens Hus into the urban space.

RAMA Festival is RAMA’s annual festival, where the Academy shows its broad musical range through a large number of very different mini concerts. In 2019, it was left to the students themselves to arrange the festival. In 2020, the festival was canceled due to corona. Here in 2021, the students in Aalborg have decided to arrange the festival despite corona! All four events are planned and arranged by the students themselves, with guidance from a teacher in the subject entrepreneurship.

Spacewalk at the Urania Observatory

Already from Thursday 22 April at 3 pm, visitors can experience a Spacewalk with musical accompaniment at the Urania Observatory in the Golf Park in Aalborg. An info sheet with a QR code, which is handed out at the observatory, provides access to the music via the mobile phone. The route follows the “Planet Path” at the observatory, which gives the impression of how large the universe really is, in the size ratio 1: 2 billion. The route with musical accompaniment takes approx. 15 minutes and can be visited throughout the weekend. Remember mobile and headphones! The music is composed and recorded by students from especially the electronic line at the Academy.

Yoga with live music

Saturday 24 April at 11 and at 12, a total of 30 visitors can participate in a slightly different yoga session with the Aalborg yoga guru Winther Mcdonald. It takes place outdoors, in the square in front of Botanicus, Mølleå 5, where a group of students provide live music for the exercises. There is room for 15 participants on each team, registration is required by sms to 28 68 25 46, with clear indication of name and time.

Coffee, “Hus Forbi” and music on Gammeltorv

On Saturday 24 April, everyone is welcome to visit Gammeltorv between 11 am and 2 pm. A total of 12 songwriters from the Academy will play a small quarter each in the singer / songwriter tradition, while the drop-in center Café Parasollen sells coffee, and the homeless sell the “Hus Forbi” magazine about homelessness. The event is arranged in collaboration with Parasollen, Hus Forbi and Aalborg Municipality and stems from the students’ solidarity with the many aid organizations, which due to the corona have lost a significant part of their income from second-hand shops.

Corona poems with music online

Saturday 24 April from 4 pm everyone can via the link www.projektordlyd.dk  experience “Ordlyd”, a collaboration between the Academy and Brønderslev Writers School. A total of five poems by students from the Writers School merge with music written and played by Academy students. The fusion of poetry and music reflects some of what many experienced during the pandemic: isolation, moments of social silence, but also moments of inner noise spreading in different directions. The link is available through Sunday.
