Question of Matter

Question of Matter is an artistic development project by assistant professor Jakob Thorkild Overgaard that explores the connection between an analogue prehistory of digital sound technology and how knowledge of this can expand musical imagination and possibilities.

The project consists of three video works (5–7 minutes each) examining the relationship between music and technology, with a focus on digital sound processing rooted in analogue predecessors. It combines original music, text, performance, and graphics.

Engaging with ongoing debates about art, technology, and AI, Question of Matter contributes artistically to discussions central to electronic music education. The project is part of Overgaard’s broader research into experience, perception, and formation of meaning.
