ELBS – European Low Brass Seminar Aarhus 2025
Low brass students meeting - February 26 to March 2, 2025 - Aarhus, Denmark
The European Low Brass Seminar Aarhus 2025 (ELBS Aarhus 2025) will take place at the Royal Academy of Music in Aarhus, Denmark, the host institution for the event. The Academy is based in the Music Hall Aarhus, close to the town hall.
ELBS Aarhus 2025 is designed to bring together European trombone and tuba students for an immersive short-week program. Participants receive instruction from esteemed faculty members of participating institutions, focusing on both individual skill development and ensemble collaboration.
Program Highlights
– Two trombone choirs, each with 20-25 participants
– An euphonium/tuba ensemble
– A grand joint choir, where all participants perform together

Saturday March 1 at 15:00 – Concert with the Secret Tuba Guest (TBA)

Saturday March 1 at 19:30 – Trombone Ensemble Concert from Participating Schools

Duration: 2 hours (with intermission)
Sunday March 2 at 14:00 – Final ELBS Aarhus 2025 Concert
Venue: DOKK1, The View (at the harbor)

Duration: Approx. 55-60 min.

Guest Lecturer
February 27-28 – The seminar will welcome distinguished Dutch trombonist Brandt Attema as a guest lecturer. Since 2018, Attema has served as an honorary professor at the Royal Academy of Music Aarhus.

ELBS Aarhus 2025 is part of the Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) under the Erasmus Programme, which facilitates short-term exchange stays for students from European higher education institutions.

European Low Brass Seminar
This initiative was launched in 2023, originating from the trombone and tuba classes of the Royal Academy of Music in Aarhus, in collaboration with leading institutions across Europe. The first seminar took place in late summer 2023 in Vicenza, Italy.
