OPUS 2025 – Piano Festival and collaboration between piano communities
From Monday, October 6 to Sunday, October 12, the annual OPUS Festival will be held at the Academy in Aarhus. A total of 8 concerts featuring timeless piano music.
OPUS is the Academy’s annual piano festival, where we celebrate the piano and the many classical composers who have written fantastic music for the instrument.
Collaboration with Copenhagen
Each year, the festival welcomes different guest artists. For OPUS 25, the Academy in Aarhus (RAMA) is collaborating with the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen (DKDM). We will be joined by six students from DKDM, as well as Professor Marianna Shirinyan and Associate Professor Emil Gryesten.
At each concert, the audience can experience new students and teachers performing a varied repertoire. OPUS 2025 does not have a fixed theme; the programs are curated based on what creates a great concert experience for the audience. se the programmes ind the Calender.
This is the first time we’ve had such an extensive collaboration across the piano communities at RAMA and DKDM. The collaboration also includes talented students from Gradus Junior College, who will have their own concert on Sunday afternoon. Junior College is a talent development initiative at RAMA in partnership with the Gradus piano school.
Masterclass
In connection with the festival, there will be open masterclasses from Wednesday to Sunday, where the public is welcome to observe how some of Denmark’s leading piano educators guide young piano talents through a prepared repertoire.
The instructors are Marianna Shirinyan and Emil Gryesten from DKDM in Copenhagen, as well as Søren Rastogi and Martin Lysholm Jepsen from RAMA in Aarhus.
The OPUS Festival is supported by the Knud Højgaard Foundation and the Louis Hansen Foundation.
