New principal

As of 1 March 2024, Keld Hosbond (56) is appointed principal at the Academy. Since June 2022, Hosbond has been acting principal.

Broad professional profile

Keld Hosbond has a broad musical, pedagogical and administrative profile. Based on an education as both a musician (jazz/pop trombonist from RAMA) and cand.scient.pol. (AU) he has been associated with the Academy for more than 20 years, including as teacher, head of planning and head of the Academy’s international work. From 2016 to 2022, Hosbond served as vice-principal.

In the international area, Keld Hosbond was, among other things, responsible for building the international conservatory network Glomus, with exchange agreements and capacity building in all parts of the world, from Brazil to Mali and Palestine to Afghanistan. Other areas of focus include entrepreneurship, fundraising and the development of artistic citizenship. Alongside his Academy career, Keld Hosbond has continued to be active as a musician, i.e. as backing for numerous soloists and artists.

Cooperation with new board

RAMA, in line with the other art schools, now has a board. Keld Hosbond thus becomes the first principal at the Academy to report to a board.

Chairman of the board Morten Koppelhus states in connection with the appointment:

We on the board are super happy and excited; we have found the right person among highly qualified applicants and see in Keld the right cocktail of knowledge and curiosity, enormous competence and great ambitions on RAMA’s behalf. The board is looking forward to getting started with the work in close partnership with the new principal and with the management, employees and students. Among other things, the work with the new strategy for 2025-28.

Keld Hosbond says in connection with the appointment:

I am very much looking forward to helping to lead this fantastic institution into the future and to helping to create a new strategy in close collaboration with the board, students and staff. The position as principal is a dream job for me, and I enjoy the work of creating the best imaginable framework for all the talented students to unfold their potential. For the benefit not just of themselves, but also of the whole community.
