Debut Concert – Kamil Piotrowicz, piano
With this concert Kamil Piotrowicz makes his debut from the soloist class at RAMA.
During a one-hour concert, Kamil Piotrowicz will showcase his artistic exploration on the improvised acoustic piano and electronic composition. Piotrowicz’s performance will focus on the manipulation and exploration of frequencies, drones, ambient noise, and repetition within the context of piano, modular synthesizers and computer.
Kamil Piotrowicz (1992) – pianist, composer, founder of Idealistic Festival and independent label Howard Records. He is a leader and member of the Kamil Piotrowicz Sextet, HAŁVVA, Hirjjo, Wojtczak / Piotrowicz, Lawaai. His approach to the piano is characterised by meticulous technique, maximalist minimalism, virtuosity and emotionality.
Kamil performed in the USA, Europe and in South Africa. He worked with Jaimie Branch, Christian Lillinger, Tim Berne, Peter Knight, Jacob Anderskov, Lotte Anker, Timothée Quost, Tizia Zimmermann or Jan Młynarski.
Kamil graduated with honours from the composition class of Professor Leszek Kułakowski at the Academy of Music in Gdańsk and from the Rhythmic Music Conservatory in Copenhagen. He is currently studying the Soloist Program at The Royal Conservatory of Music in Aarhus, Denmark
