Facilities in Aalborg
The department of The Royal Academy of Music in Aalborg is located in The House of Music (Musikkens Hus). The Academy has a number of super fine class rooms, rehearsal rooms, concert halls and sound studios.
Class rooms

Rehearsal rooms
Besides the class rooms, students have access to a number of rehearsal rooms. This means that students have excellent opportunities for practicing 24/7.
Sound studio
The studio consists of three rooms in order to separate the instruments.
The studio has 24 channel input via Universal Audio Apollo. We use Cubase and Logic on a Mac platform. There’s a Thunderbolt connection, which means that the students can bring their own laptop and control the studio hardware from their own computer. The studio is equipped with Dynaudio Acoustics BM 15A og Focal Twin6 be. A selection of Seenheiser, SKG, Shure and Neumann microphones are available.
Halls
Hall I (Classical)
The Concert Hall (Hall I) is primarily used for classical concerts,tuition, practice, and exams.
Measurements (length*width*height): 18*10*6 meters. The hall houses a 60 cm high stage measuring 10*5 meters and seats 140 people.
The stage also holds two Steinway D-274 Concert Grand Pianos. Permanent microphone suspension for recording concerts. The hall has a medium long reverberation time, suitable for classical music. The hall is also used for rhythmic workshops and clinics with a limited sound pressure. Furthermore, the hall is used for master classes and as assembly hall in connection with opening, graduation, etc.
Hall II (Jazz/Pop)
The hall is mainly used for tuition of classical and rhythmic choirs, and for the choir conductor programme.
Measurement of The Choir Hall (Hall II) (length*width*height): 10*18*6 meters. Flexible seating for 80 people with the possibility to expand to 140 people.
The hall is equipped with a choir podium, a conductor podium, a piano, and a smaller PA equipment.
The hall is also used as an auditorium with a mobile projector. The stage is flexible, so that the hall may be used for concerts (IM tour concerts, semester concerts, and an opera every other year).
Particularly for ELM
Particular facilities for students at Electronic Sound and Music (ELM):
Lessons take place in large rooms equipped with professional studio monitors, monitor control, sound card and sound absorbing material. Furthermore, the rooms are equipped with: Drum pads, drum machines, synths, midi controllers and midi keyboard.
One of the rooms is also equipped with 4 studio monitors, making a 4-channel set-up possible.
