The classical programmes at the Royal Academy of Music Aarhus/Aalborg share a tradition for premium quality tuition, and we expect a lot from you as a student.
In the Master’s programme in classical music, you develop your musicianship to a professional level and prepare for your career as a classical musician, music pedagogue, and music entrepreneur. You will get the opportunity to hone your skills in an exciting, varied, and inspiring environment with strong professional networks; internally on individual subjects as well as across all classical disciplines.
You will receive solo tuition on your principal instrument as well as group tuition in a range of supporting subjects. The programme also includes electives and your own projects.
RAMA maintains close collaborations with a number of professional orchestras and ensembles. This provides excellent opportunities to participate in orchestral training placements. We also place great emphasis on chamber music, and overall there are many opportunities to perform concerts, attend masterclasses, take part in internal competitions, or participate in various projects such as opera productions.
In addition, there are great opportunities for collaborating with students from our two other main areas: jazz/pop music and electronic music.
(June 2025: Visit to India together with students fra RDAM; concert with Symphony Orchestra of India.)
Our programmes span many different genres, ages, methods, and tuition formats, and they provide opportunities for specialisation as well as more generalised education.
If you want a very general music degree, consider the “Musikleder” programme (link følger) which includes several main subjects and where tuition encompasses both classical and jazz/pop disciplines.
Our classical programmes are offered at the Aarhus campus. After completing the bachelor’s degree, you can apply for admission to a master’s programme.
