Jazz-talent orchestra
Danish Youth Jazz Orchestra is made up of upcoming talents from Central Jutland and acts both as a young elite big band and as a talent development base in Central Denmark Region. The orchestra was established about two years ago as a collaboration between Aarhus Music School and MGK, RAMA and Aarhus Jazz Orchestra. The orchestra is conducted by drummer John Riddell.
The orchestra shall create greater interest in jazz music among young people, and further it shall develop jazz talents and strengthen the musical food chain in the region. The broad collaboration allows for workshops and masterclasses with musicians and soloists from Aarhus Jazz Orchestra.
In the spring and summer of 2019, the Danish Youth Jazz Orchestra can be experienced at a number of concerts under the heading “We Are DYJO”, among others at Klubscenen, Musikhuset Aarhus, Saturday 18 May at 19:30. There is free access but limited space!
