Nickie Johansson

Soprano Nickie Johansson graduated from Danish National Academy of music, Odense, in 2008. Since then she has had a wide solo career.

Johansson has performed soloist roles at Den Ny Opera, Den ¬Fynske Opera, Valdemars Slots Sommeropera, Øresundsoperaen and other stages in roles as Pamina in The Magic Flute, Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni, Serpetta in La Finta Giardiniera, Belinda in Dido and Aeneas, Annina in La Traviata and Drusilla in The coronation of Poppea. Also Johansson has been a soloist with many of Denmark’s symphony orchestras, including with the Copenhagen Phil in 2015 in Springtime on Funen by Carl Niellsen and Carmina Burana by Carl Orff.

Contemporary music always has had a place in her artistic work. In 2015 she performed for instance Émilie Suite of Kaija Saariaho with Århus Sinfonietta and conductor Chris Austin at the Concert Hall Aarhus. The performance got very good reviews, and the concert was broadcast from the Black Diamond later. In autumn 2016, Nickie Johansson shall perform in St. Petersburg on the big Sound Ways Festival.
