Rooftop Symphony – RAMA closes the Music City Year

RAMA presents a large-scale, magnificent, new work beyond the usual and across musical genres when Music City Aarhus 2022 closes the music city year of 2022 with a series of events on Saturday 17 December. The work is called: Rooftop Symphony.

Three of the city’s most significant buildings – Musikhuset, ARoS and the Townhall Tower – are bathed in light, while sound and music stream from the three roofs over the audience in Musikhusparken between the buildings. All citizens are invited to attend the spectacular show for free on Saturday evening between 19:00 and 19:30. Frederiks Allé will be closed off for today’s occasion, so that you can have a completely undisturbed view of the three towers.

The three iconic buildings each get their own voice. First individually. Finally, they come together in the great harmony: Rooftop Symphony. Music and sound is distributed from the buildings themselves via big loud speakers and with lightshow illuminating the buildings.

Rooftop Symphony is written, produced and performed by RAMA students and staff, across genres and departments. An interdisciplinary work that shows the Academy’s many programme fields.

The concert is supported by Kirsten og Gunnar Fonden, Aarhus Kommune and Aarhus Stiftstidendes Fond.
