Tuba Masterclass Concert
A great evening with the deep brass!
In the first half of the concert, students from the tuba class at RAMA will perform works for the tuba quartet.
In the second half, the students are joined by the Euphonium and Tuba sections from Slesvigske Musikkorps, Prinsens Musikkorps, Sønderjyllands and Aalborg Symphony Orchestra. All together will perform some works for large Euphonium and Tuba ensemble under the direction of Professor Miguel Moreno.
On November 25 and 26 there will be group and individual lessons taught by Professor Miguel Moreno exclusively for RAMA tuba students.
Miguel Moreno Guna
Extraordinary Bachelor Degree Award from the Royal Conservatory of Music of Madrid (R.C.S.M.). Founding member and professor of the National YHouth Orchestra of Spain (J.O.N.D.E). He has collaborated with various orchestras such as the O.N.E., R.T.V.E., Madrid Symphony, Community of Madrid, Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, Qatar Philharmonic (Qatar), Picardie Orchestra (France), Cadaqués Orchestra, etc. He was a member of the brass quintets Madrid Brass and Quoniam Brass and the Guerrero Project. He is part of the group The Sir Aligator’s Company. He has played with conductors such Zubin Metha, Frühbeck de Burgos, Adrian Leaper, García Asensio, Lorin Maazel, García Navarro, Manuel Galduf, etc.
Miguel Moreno was principal conductor of the Symphonic Band of the R.C.S.M. from Madrid (2002-2008) and First Prize at the 15th Israeli Youth Band Festival. He was principal conductor of the Ateneo Musical y de Enseñanza Banda Primitiva de Llíria (2008-2013) and First Prize at the International Band Competition “Ciudad de Valencia” in 2011. He has conducted the Extremadura Orchestra, the Youth Orchestra of Extremadura, the Municipal Band of Palma de Mallorca, the Troviscal Band (Portugal), etc.
He is D.E.A. from SEK University. Graduate in band conducting from ABRSM (Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music) in London. PhD from IE University. Honorary member of the AETYB (Spanish Association of Tubas and Euphoniums). Tuba teacher at the R.C.S.M. of Madrid (1985-2008), of Castellón (2008-2016) and of the C.S.M. of Valencia at present.
