DJM@Aarhus Festuge: Ola Duo

The academy presents a short row of classical concerts in Ridehuset in cooperation with Aarhus Festuge.

Ola Duo:

Ola Duo is an unusual flute-cello ensemble formed in 2024 by friends – Polish cellist Aleksandra Lyczba and Spanish flutist Mònica Tort. Having first collaborated in 2022 as part of larger ensembles, Aleksandra and Mònica decided to create a duo, combining the deep sound of the cello with the bright timbre of the flute.

One of the most interesting aspects about their work together is searching the repertoire. Having relatively few original compositions scored for flute and cello, they constantly search for music that can transfer their artistic ideas.

This concert specifically focuses on fulfilling the potential of the duo. Mònica and Aleksandra invite the audience to a journey through genres, styles and cultures, showing the variety of sounds and colours they can create.
