CYKLUS – pre concert talk before Louise Schrøder’s debut concert
As a prelude to Louise Schrøder’s debut concert, she will present a talk on the work CYKLUS together with medical doctor Ida Bergholdt Jul Christiansen.
CYKLUS is an artistic interpretation of the biological processes that take place in the body during the menstrual cycle. Throughout the development of the work, Ida has contributed as a medical consultant. The event will begin with a medical perspective presented by Ida, followed by a talk by Louise about the process of translating biology into music.
Ida Bergholdt Jul Christiansen
Medical Doctor, graduated from Aarhus University in the summer of 2024
Ida works as a hospital doctor within the field of internal medicine. Alongside her medical practice, she is involved in science and health communication through lectures, interdisciplinary outreach projects, and teaching. Ida has research experience and has published several scientific articles. Her interests include health and health communication in a broad sense. Ida is also a choir singer and has held several professional freelance engagements, including at Aarhus Theatre. She has appeared in the productions ”Romeo and Juliet”, ”Natten – en teaterkoncert” and most recently ”Barbara”. She is currently attending the masterclass programme at Skrivekunstskolen and is working on a collection of children’s books exploring themes such as pain and grief.
Louise Schrøder
Composer, Advanced Postgraduate Programme at the royal Academy of Music
Louise Schrøder is a composer and pianist based in Aarhus. She holds a degree in composition from the Royal Academy of Music and is currently enrolled in the Academy’s Advanced Postgraduate Programme. Her artistic practice moves between contemporary music, improvisation, and electroacoustic expression, with a particular focus on storytelling and interdisciplinary collaboration. Louise has composed works for, among others, Aarhus Chamber Orchestra, Aarhus Jazz Orchestra, Ensemble Edge, and Admeta String Quartet. She has also worked with music for the stage as a music assistant and co-composer on productions at Aarhus Theatre and REPUBLIQUE.
The concert is free, and you can just show up without a ticket. Please come early.
