About Frauenliebe – a lied performance about female identity
A study of the repertoire of female identity: Two singers and two pianists pit Robert Schumann’s song cycle “Frauenliebe und Leben” (1840) against Libby Larsen’s “Love After 1950” (2000). The submissive love for the man of the past meets the agency of modern woman and the break-up in the present. The performance is a dialogue across the divide between woman’s identity in two eras bringing musical theatre into lied recital.
The concert is af part of Århundredets Festival.
