New Music for Strings: Expanding Tradition

Expanding Tradition explores how the string tradition grows: live electronics that expand the vocabulary of string instruments, acoustic solo works that push their technical boundaries, and a new generation in the EOS Quartet, a newly formed string quartet of young musicians. Violinist and composer Mari Kimura, a pioneer of violin and interactive electronics, performs alongside Anne Sophie Andersen, Malthe Volfing-Højager and the EOS Quartet in music by Nordic and American composers, paired with tradition in the form of music by Danish composer Rued Langgaard.

Works by Rued Langgaard, Eivind Buene, Anne Sophie Andersen, Malthe Volfing-Højager and Julia Constance Wiger-Nordås.
