Music Leadership – Classical Choral Conducting

Music Leadership – Classical Choral Conducting

Classical Choral Conducting is a track within the Bachelor of Music in Music Leadership, providing a foundation for advanced study and specialisation in classical choral conducting.

The programme focuses on developing students’ professional and artistic skills in classical choral conducting. During their Bachelor’s studies, students have the opportunity to broaden their musical competencies through shared classes with the General Music Leadership programme. They also participate in selected joint sessions with students from RAMA’s Master’s programme in Classical Choral Conducting.

The programme places particular emphasis on developing students’ artistic, vocal, conducting and pedagogical competencies, as well as their ability to work with classical choirs and vocal ensembles at different levels.

Practical choral conducting is at the heart of the programme, providing a framework for each student’s professional and artistic development.

Core Music Leadership Disciplines

Throughout semesters 1–6, students specialise in classical choral conducting through both group and individual tuition.

The core discipline is supported by practical placements and a range of supplementary subjects, including score reading and playing, vocal technique and singing, individual instrumental or vocal tuition, functional piano and singing, ear training, arranging, music theory, entrepreneurship, and a wide selection of electives.
