About Kaninen & Alexandra Hallén

When Alexandra Hallén was a child her favorite teddy bear was a bunny called Byggis. But after some years Byggis disappeared which left Alexandra very sad, wondering where it went.

Growing up Alexandra fell a lot but she didn’t have the reflexes normal people do, she didn’t catch herself with her hands as she fell. Which led to her two big front teeth moving further and further out. It was so far out that she could fit her underlip in between those teeth and her other ones. Which led to so very unfortunate family photos. Bunnies and Melodifestivalen always had a special place in her heart so she decided to make a durational performance where she said goodbye to her life and Kaninen took over.

Alexandra Hallén (S) is a multi-faceted artist, composer and performer who explores the boundaries of herself and the audience. By using objects, she brings reality into the art, and thus provoke forth genuine emotions and bodily reactions. The performer in Halléns pieces is no longer a mediator of the composer’s emotions: she has to live her own real emotions and bodily sensations in order to perform the work. Alexandra Hallén was awarded The Danish Composer Society’s Music Prize in 2019.

With this concert Alexandra Hallén makes her debut from the soloist class at RAMA. The concert is a part of this years SPOR Festival.

About Scenatet

Scenatet was established in 2008 and is recognized to be one of the most innovative and experimental sound-based cross-artistic ensembles in Europe. With roots in musical scoring, and with a strong relationship to performance art and dramaturgy, the artists of Scenatet frequently operate within a field where staging and reality meet and merge in innovative formats. Traditional forms of art presentation and artistic hierarchies are challenged, with a view to creating equal encounters between the work and the external world. Scenatet endeavours to break as much as possible with habitual thinking and traditions, and to create artistic experiences that confront and include their audience in new ways.
