v. Professor Niels-Ole Bo Johansen<\/em><\/p>\n

The Danish History of the Trombone \u2013 1940 to the Present.<\/h2>\n

The project aims to map and analyse the stylistic directions that have shaped Danish trombone playing, with particular focus on the paradigm shifts that took place in the period following the Second World War. The analysis seeks to identify and contextualise the pedagogical, aesthetic, institutional, and professional-historical factors that have contributed to these changes. The project adopts a historical-analytical perspective, emphasising the interplay between educational institutions, performance practice, and professional musical life.<\/p>\n

The methodological design of the project is grounded in a qualitative, empirical approach based on semi-structured, life-history interviews with 15\u201320 living trombonists, principally those who were educated during the 1960s. The interviews serve as primary empirical material and are intended to gather experiential knowledge concerning didactic traditions, instrumental ideals, repertoire practices, and the structural conditions for trombonists within professional musical life. The interview material is analysed thematically with a view to identifying patterns, ruptures, and continuities in stylistic and pedagogical practices across generations and genres.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
