The pianist Irina Osipova is a Professor at the Moscow P.I. Tchaikovsky Conservatory. She was appointed Honorary Professor at the end of the piano festival OPUS 11 at the Concert Hall in Aarhus in October 2011.<\/p>\n
It was the fourth year running that Osipova and a number of her students visited Denmark, where Osipova taught the Danish students and piano Professor Anne \u00d8land from The Royal Academy of Music Aarhus \/ Aalborg taught the Russian students. Every day during an entire week ended with concerts in The Small Hall before a huge and interested audience.<\/p>\n
This collaboration with Osipova has been strengthened with the appointment to Honorary Professor.<\/p>\n
Irina Osipova graduated from the Moscow Conservatory in 1981. She has performed with leading orchestras in a number of countries and has received great recognition for her interpretations of Rachmaninov in particular. She has recorded Mussorgsky, Rachmaninov, and Medtner for the record company BMG. Concurrently, Osipova has taught at the Moscow Conservatory and is requested internationally as a guest teacher and judge at competitions.<\/p>\n
Professional exchange across traditions and cultures is always rewarding. But for piano Professor Anne \u00d8land the collaboration with Osipova goes way beyond that. \u00d8land about Irina Osipova: “She is a passionate professional. Osipova has a giant ballast that supplements the western piano tradition in a very noble way. She was trained by a student of the legendary Russian piano pedagogue Heinrich Neuhaus and is thus closely connected to the great Russian piano tradition.
