New Christmas tradition – Christmas concert in Aalborg

A brand-new Christmas tradition is coming to life at the Academy, as the Academy invites everyone to a free Christmas concert on Friday, December 5th at 3:00 PM in Vor Frelsers Kirke, Annebergvej 2, in Aalborg.

For many years, the Academy’s Aarhus department has held a Christmas concert in Aarhus Cathedral, which fills up to the bursting point every year. RAMA hopes that, over time, a similarly strong tradition can be established in Aalborg for the enjoyment of the city’s residents.

With the concert, RAMA invites the people of Aalborg to set aside the stress of the holiday season and allow themselves to be embraced by nearly an hour of music and togetherness with the young students from the city’s music academy. The concert lasts just under an hour. Admission is free, and there will be an opportunity to buy æbleskiver and gløgg at affordable prices.

Wide Range of Music

The concert offers a broad selection of what RAMA in Aalborg has to offer:

A vocal student interprets some of her favorite Christmas songs, blending well-known classics with lesser-known pieces. A moodful jazz project creates a live experience that combines photographic art, field recordings, music, and improvisation. Photographs from Northern Jutland will be displayed on a large screen while the music is performed live.

An a cappella Christmas quintet sings beautiful choral arrangements of a couple of Christmas classics. And a cheerful pop artist mixes melancholic everyday poetry with quirky, humorous turns of phrase that make the audience both smile and shed a tear.

All music is performed by the academy’s students. The concert concludes with a hymn before everyone once again heads out into the Christmas bustle.
