New music in the library
Music created from discarded books and other materials at Viby Library
During the autumn, nine students from the classical and electronic composer programs at RAMA acted as artists in residence at Viby Library near Aarhus. Here they have worked to create new music in an open and investigative process, inspired by the library’s facilities and functions.
The process has resulted in a number of works that, among other things, explores how music can be created from the library’s discarded materials, and how sound can be used as a communication tool in the library’s exhibition environments.
At this presentation concert, you can experience the works and hear the students talk about their work. Everyone is welcome, entry is free.
